Meet The Cowboy
My name is Eddie Simmons, and Grafitti Cowboy is my studio.
I was born in Purvis, but spent a lot of time moving throughout the country due to me being a child of a military parent. For as long as I can remember, I always had a knack for drawing. When I returned to Mississippi, I honed in on my skills into various art forms and studied different cultural perspectives on color and design.
Being a native of Mississippi, I wanted to create artwork that represented this part of America. This, my friend, is the home of the Mississippi Delta Blues! I can’t begin to explain the heritage and what it means to us down here in the “‘Sipp”, but I wanted to express what it means to me visually on canvas. So, through many years of perfecting my craft and studying the narrative of my region, I present to you these honorable depictions of the Blues Fathers of Mississippi and the rich history of music that flows through this great state.
By combining a powerful blast of graffiti elements, colors and fonts, I’m attempting to represent the profound nature of the blues culture.
